Flamenco at the Empress
Calo Flamenco concludes their week-long dance odyssey through Fairbanks at The Empress Theater on October 9. The Empress promises to be a special event. There are a few remaining tickets to the benefit performance at Mile 229 Parks, but unless you make a reservation quickly, this will be the last chance to catch an intimate evening with an electrifying group of flamenco tableau performers in their element—the small stage, where it is best seen.
"When the average American looks at flamenco dance, they sometimes miss the core and emotion that is an essential part of the production," he said. "We all need to learn how to see this art form from a different perspective. And when I choreograph and choose which pieces I bring on tour, I find the works that help the audience understand what makes flamenco." — Deseret News
Two sets of dance will be performed at 8:00pm and again at 9:00pm. Admission for the evening is $20.
No reservations accepted, tickets available at the door. This is the last down-town Flamenco experience of the season.
