So here’s how it happened:

We had their CD and loved it. Then, I attended their showcase at the Western Arts Alliance conference last fall and really loved them. They are so much more than their CD. Their sound is beautiful, rich and wonderful. Their harmonies were amazing and they made a hotel room filled with jaded presenters glow with enthusiasm for their original melodies and fun approach to performing. I had fun. Fun, fun, fun! I was skipping when I left and I didn’t want to leave at all.

This was a group that Jason Hodges (executive director of the Anchorage Concert Association) and I completely agreed upon. Next, I sent a 40-, a 60- and a 90-year old (all males) to hear them when they performed at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters in New York. They all came back with their tongues on the floor. It was embarrassing, really. They don’t only sound great and are fun, but they are also incredibly cute. Yes, tres chic and very gamine.

Chic Gamine will be a party! My biggest fear is that you won’t come because you haven’t heard of them, but I promise, if you come you will skip out the door saying “Hey! Who knew FCA could be this fun?”

Collaboration, connection and community:

We start with our public performance (or should we say party?), and then continue the celebration at a member’s season opening celebration where the girls and Sasha will do one more set for those with enough foresight to have become an FCA member.

We’ll take them to Delta Junction and Healy.

We’ll present a school performance.

Stay tuned to this site to find out more about our season opening night party!
